We always vow not to neglect parents and adults as you race around ensuring your children have a fab fete day. That’s why we bring in a barista from one of the area’s most popular coffee shops for the day to make your flat white, cappuccino or, for the hard core, a long black. We know coffee is important, so this is the place to come.
Parents and grandparents are rightly proud of their budding little Picassos and Da Vincis. That’s why each year we put the art canvases of our talented Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students up for sale. The works cost $10 and are a wonderful keepsake of children’s time at Graceville State School.
Lights, camera … auction – every year a great array of prizes are up for grabs, including many products and services from businesses trading in our community. From holidays and dinner vouchers to homeware packages and gifts, there has been a superb list of auction items over the years. We’ll have more details on the list of prizes as the 2017 fete draws closer, but suffice to say that there will be every reason to dust the cobwebs off your wallets this year. As always, one special prize tops the lot. The highest bidder for the ‘King and Queen of the Fete’ gets a private balcony seat for the fireworks, plus drinks and nibbles for up to 10 people!
Some wonderful prizes are up for grabs at our Cent Sale. Just buy a sheet of tickets and ‘bid’ for prizes by putting as many tickets as you like in the appropriate box. Then cross your fingers and hope your ticket is pulled out during the draw.
When your coffee buzz wears off, why not have a drink at The Bar? It opens at 12pm and generally runs until 8 pm (or whenever stocks sell out). We sell a range of beer, wine, sprints, soft drinks and water. The best thing about The Bar is that it attracts a large crowd of parents, adults and teachers during the day. It’s a great place to have a seat, watch the kids having fun on the rides and catch up with friends.
